The Wayanad Heritage Museum is a museum in the Indian state of Kerala. It is also known as Ambalavayal Heritage Museum. This is an interesting place for the history buffs and those interested in Kalpetta’s indigenous culture.
The Museum houses a huge collection of tribal relics and artifacts, some of which date back to the 2nd century. It is of great archeological and anthropological relevance. It is divided into four blocks—Devasmruthi, Gothrasmruthi, Veerasmruthi and Jeevenasmruthi. Each block tells the stories of a bygone era. There are depictions of ancient tribal culture and way of living. Exhibits in the museum include stone weapons, stone carvings, potteries of Megalithic Age, hunting equipment and clay sculptures among many others.
