About Explore Ram Raja temple

The pink- and tangerine-domed Ram Raja Temple, the only temple where Rama is worshipped as a king. Built as a palace for Madhukar Shah’s wife in the 16th century, it became a time when an image of Rama, temporarily installed by the rani, proved impossible to move. All this while Lord Ram was worshipped by the queen in her palace. When the temple was eventually ready, Lord Ram refused to move because of the condition he had set the queen. Go and explore the temple in the early hours of the morning to make the most of your visit.
