Things to do in Ajmer Dargah

Ajmer Dargah or Ajmer Sharif was built in honor of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. Though it is a Muslim pilgrimage, but people from all over the world come here to pay homage to the dargah. The Ajmer Dargah is well known for dull filling the requests of the devotees.
There are many festivals that you can visit while you are at the Ajmer Dargah.
Khidmat:
It is a ritual done by offering flowers. It is done twice a day and can only be performed by men. One can visit the Ajmer Dargah at any time at 4 am or 3 am to witness this ritual.
Lighting:
With the beating of drums and lights up the lanterns on the four corners of the tomb, khadims bring in candles while reciting the sacred words.
Karka:
One can witness this grand closing ceremony of the Ajmer Dargah at about 6 pm in the evening. The devotees are asked to leave the tomb with pin-drop silence while two khadims close the door behind after cleaning the tomb.
Sama:
In Ajmer Dargah, a devotional song is sung by the qawwals in praise of their god, Allah.

Places to see in Ajmer Dargah

While visiting the Ajmer Dargah you will find many monuments that were erected by different rulers while ruling India. Here listed are some of the important and well-known monuments:
Nizam Gate:
Mir Osman Ali Khan built this gate in 1911. It marks the entrance of the Ajmer Dargah.
Buland Darwaja:
A huge gate was built by Mahmood Khilji and his successors called the BulandDarwaja. Just before the Urs Festival starts, a flag is hoisted on the top of this gate.
Degs:
Big utensils used for cooking in ancient times are called degs. One will find such degs located in front of the Saham Chiragh. Their diameter ranges from 10-15 feet and can cook about 70 pounds of rice at a time.
Samakhana or Mahifilkhana:
This is a place in the Ajmer Dargah where you can hear to the soul touching and soothing Qawwali. This place was built by Nawab Bashir-Ud-Dowla sir Asmaan Jaah of Hyderabad on the western side of the Saham Chiragh.

This place is a small and gorgeous doorway and is located on the eastern side of the main tomb. It was built by the Princess Jahan Ara Begam, daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan.

Shopping Ajmer Dargah
You can buy Chaddars of all forms. There are also chaddars made of rose petals whose smell is just amazing. Another well-known thing is Lachcha which is a yellow or red thread that is blessed with holy verses and is supposed to protect your family.

Very bad experience in my life.....agent made me pay extra money at hotel and did not provide food as promised and at Delhi hotel he did not pay Money on time ,so it was very inconvenience
