About Roll To The Beats Of Delhi Drum Circle (DDC)
Fascinating and appealing ever since its inception, the “Delhi Drum Circle” has attracted many visitors to Hauz Khas Village. From students, lawyers and doctors to photographers, poets and artists you’d come across number of faces to join them. Though a majority of them are Indians but some foreigners are also seen tapping their toes with the music. This is a wonderful casual, non-commercial community based drumming group which gathers to play their drums every fortnight in the park. It is all about playing drums, djembe, tabla, dholaks, daf as well as other instruments as afuche, flute, didgeridoo, shankh.
The members start to play thedrums warming up for the jam session. As time proceeds, the gazebo converts in an open air opera house with the most exotic sounds drawn from the diverse corners of the world. It seems as if a perfect stage is set for Lord Shiva’s dance. One can feel moving to trance, where you receive the positivity in abundance on the beats of Delhi Drum circle.
