The Bay Island Driftwood Museum houses an amazing collection of driftwood sculptures in Kumarakom. The museum was established by proprietor and curator Raji Punnoose who received an award from the Limca Book of Records 2001.
The artifacts have been developed through a very rare and innovative art form which is practised in Kumarakom village of Kottayam. Innovative and unique root sculptures can be found here. This is an amazing initiative which is innovative and original in its approach. It uses materials which are normally considered waste, to make beautiful art.
