About Asharfi Mahal

Built as a Madras by Hoshang Shah in 1405 and 1422, the Ashrafi Mahal is a quadrangle with rows of cells and arcade corridors on the outside. There are four corner towers.

The northwest tower was converted into a seen storey victory tower by Mahmud Khilji, who also roofed the courtyard as a platform for his grand tomb. One can still climb up the grand staircase and walk around the roof.
