It is said that Jaja Jiwaji had a penchant for good looking furniture pieces and hence he had brought many pieces of furniture from all across the globe like Italy, New York, Japan, Egypt and England to decorate his palace. The palace resembles and European architecture and is a sight to behold. The Jai Vilas Mahal has a total of 400 rooms out of 40 of these rooms have been kept exclusively for the Jiwaji Rao Scindia Museum which is another attraction. It also has a big chandelier that weighs almost 7 tonners which is said to be one of the largest in the whole world.
