Puri is a beach city and a municipality in the state of Odisha in eastern India. Puri is a religious place and attracts lots of tourists every year. One of the four must-visit pilgrimage sites for Hindus Char-Dham, It is also known as Sri Jagannath Dham after the 12th-century, Jagannath Temple located in the city.
The temple town has many Hindu religious maths or monasteries. The 24 festivals, including 13 major ones, held every year in the temple complex contribute to the economy of the city. Ratha Yatra and its related festivals are the most important which are attended by millions of worshippers.
