At a separation of 2.5 km from Puri Junction, Jagannath Temple is a holy sanctuary arranged in the core of Puri town in Orissa. It is the most venerated journey site for Hindus as it is incorporated into the devout Char Dham Yatra with Badrinath, Dwarka and Rameshwaram. The sanctuary structure is loaded with astounding carvings and is a fine example of Kalinga style of design. Spread over a territory of 4, 00,000 square feet with 20 feet high invigorated divider, the world popular sanctuary is remain on a 10 sections of land lifted stone stage. The shikara of the Jagannath sanctuary towers to a tallness of 192 feet. There is a wheel called Nila Chakra over the Jagannath Temple made of a composite of eight metals. Basically the sanctuary has four chambers and they are Bhogmandir, Nata-mandir, the Jagamohana and the latter is the sanctum or the Deul revering the gods.
