Situated within the Kamlang Reserve forest area in Arunachal Pradesh, the Parasuram Kund is a famous place on the Lohit River. It carries with itself a mythological significance, associated with the legend Parasuram, a Hindu sage. Many pilgrims visit the Kund in large numbers on Makar Sankranti to wash off their sins. A fair is also held there during that time.
The annual mela is celebrated at a distance of 3 miles from the north eastern portion of Tezu. The kund is surrounded by dense forests of Ruddraksha trees which is said to bear sacred fruits.
