About Assam State Zoo

Situated in the Kamrup district of Guwahati, Assam State Zoo is one of the major tourist attraction of Northeast. Spread across the area of 435 acre in Hengrabari Reserved Forest region, Assam State Zoo cum botanical garden is a host of 113 species of repltiles, birds and animals from across the world. Located in the middle of the city, the place is easily accessible. The entry fares are as cheap as 30 rupees for adults and 10 rupees for children however you will have to pay 100 bucks if you are carrying a camera along. Viting hours are between 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. with a weekly off on Friday. Home to endangered species like one-horned rhinoceros, this place is worth giving a try for it won't leave you disappointed if you have a long pending family picnic, hangout with college squad or a photoshoot spree.
