The Pangsau Pass is a mountain pass, situated at an altitude of 1136 metres above the sea level, atop the Patkai hills on the India-Myanmar border. The road is all gravel and sand. The Ledo Road, later known to be the Stilwell road was bhula from the tea Plantation province of Assam to northern Burma, through the mountains and forests and then form a junction with the Burma road.
