Nehru Park is one of the oldest parks in Assam Located in the coronary heart of the metropolis of Guwahati, contrary to Cotton College in Panbazar place of Guwahati, Nehru Park is a captivating garden park constructed in 2000 and named after the primary Prime Minister of India- Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Based in the age old institutional place of Guwahati with masses of schools within the area, the park place turned into originally a church with numerous cemeteries.
Later, the Assam authorities overtook it and decided otherwise. Currently, one of the principal traveler points of interest of the town, the park has been beautified with numerous trees, tender grass and impressive sculptures. Blessed with a pristine surroundings and a pleasant environment, Nehru Park boasts of 45 sculptures carved out of concrete depicting various dance styles of the state of Assam. Besides, it has an outdoor theatre, a rock lawn, a charming garden and some artificial ponds. The park is thronged via tourists day in and day out attributable to its nicely- maintained lawns, vibrantly blooming plants and an all- around energy.
