Meenmutty Falls is located at a distance of 29 km from the town of Kalpetta in Kerala. The waterfall is particularly noted because of its height which is upto 300 meters. It is a three-tiered waterfall in the middle of a jungle.
Meenmutty is a combination of Malayalam words meen and mutty. Meen refers to “fish” and mutty means “blocked”. The waterfall can be reached through a 2 km trek through the jungle from the Wayanad-Ooty main road. The experience of trekking through the rocks to reach the waterfall is an exciting one. The cascading waterfall in the lap of the jungle is a beautiful sight.
