Rock Garden
World acclaimed and unique in its own way, Rock Garden attracts some of the great connoisseurs and artists from all over the world to witness its amazing creation of industrial and urban waste. Situated in between the Sukhna lake and capital complex, the garden has a wide area of around 20acres. There is a theatre trove, an open air exhibition hall and a very interesting miniature maze creating a vast fantasy land of art.
Sukhna Lake
For the relaxation of body and spirit, the city offer a picturesque Sukhna Lake at the foothills of Shivalik range. Not just nature, the lake also offers many water sports like yachting, water skiing and boating to the tourists. This, indeed, is the best place in the city to enjoy the day, from dusk to dawn and for joggers, nature lovers to adventure freaks. To rejuvenate the mood, there are also programs by famous musicians, shops and CITCO's fast food joint to complete the evening. In the winter season, one can also see some of the exotic migratory birds like the Storks, Siberian duck and Cranes enjoying with you, the sunny day near the banks.
Rose Garden
Chandigarh is quite famous for its number of blooming gardens. Of all the gardens, Rose Garden is the largest one in the Asia with a wide area of around 27 acres, 17, 000 plants and 1, 600 species of roses. Not only roses, but tourists can also see some of the unique species of medicinal trees like bahera, bel, camphor, harar and yellow gulmohar. Once in a year, there is an annual Festival of Gardens organized here in which thousands of visitors come and witness the beauty of the nature.
City Center
City Centre or popularly called as sector 17, is the favorite hub and the biggest shopping center among youngsters for shopping and clubbing. The entire center is constructed with excellent planning, the combination of building blocks and open spaces that makes it not too crowded as other markets. Shopping is really a pleasure in the city center with air conditioned shops, and when tired, one can anytime sit steps of the "dove of peace" spot, where water cascades play in different geometric shapes and colorful lights.
