The Jalakanteshwara Temple is a fine case of Vijayanagaram Architecture. The sanctuary has impeccable carvings on its gopuram tower, lavishly cut stone columns, vast wooden entryways and staggering stone monuments and figures. These Vijayanagara figures are like the ones present in Soundararajaperumal Temple, Thadikombu, Krishnapuram Venkatachalapathy sanctuary, Srivilliputhur Divya Desam and Alagar Koyil. The Gopuram of the pinnacle is more than 100 ft. in tallness.
