Pamban bridge is another tourist attraction in Rameswaram. Located at a distance of 7 km from Rameswaram town, it is India's first sea bridge. The bridge is built on an artificial sandstone and has the shape of the arch. It has about 43 pillars supporting the structure and 64 pillars have been built on the sea.
This bridge was built as a part of the South Indian railways project. The Pamban bridge is the second largest bridge in India. Visitors can view the train passing through the Pamban railway line.
