About Reigate
Reigate is a town of more than 20,000 occupants in eastern Surrey, England. It is in the London worker belt and one of three towns in the district of Reigate and Banstead. It is sited at the foot of the North Downs and stretches out over piece of the Greensand Ridge. Reigate has a medieval chateau and has been a market town since the medieval period, when it additionally turned into a parliamentary precinct. The source of the name Reigate is dubious, yet seems to get from Roe-deer Gate, as the town was arranged close to the passage to the de Warenne's deer stop.
