About Harborough Museum

Harborough Museum was opened in 1983 in the previous R and W H Symington girdle industrial facility that additionally houses the Harborough District Council workplaces in the memorable market town of Market Harborough. It is controlled by an association between Leicestershire County Council, Harborough District Council and Market Harborough Historical Society. Since 2014, its undertakings have been directed by another altruistic association, the Harborough Museum Trust. The exhibition hall observes Market Harborough's history as a notable market town and focus of industry and exchange among Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, and gathers curios from S E Leicestershire and N Northants.
Consistent presentations incorporate Symington bodices, including the world celebrated freedom bodice, Symington Soups, Table Creams and Pea Flour, the Harboro Rubber Company, Falkners Boot and Shoe Making Workshop, an 18th century long case check made in Harborough, 17th century toys found in the nearby church, neighborhood antiquarianism finds and numerous impermanent showcases.
