About Fforest Fawr
This interesting district is a split and folded layer-cake of rocks, 480 million years really taking shape. Its scenes were etched by ice at that point changed by man, and it was an observer to the introduction of the Industrial Revolution.
It contains vital environments for uncommon plants, winged creatures, creepy crawlies and lichens. Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark is a topographically critical piece of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
It covers the western portion of our Park, from Llandovery in the north to Merthyr Tydfil in the south and from Llandeilo in the west to Brecon in the east.
