About Cardiff Bay Wetlands Reserve
This hold was made in 2002 and quickly settled itself as a critical site for over-wintering flying creatures, and for feathered creature species which breed among the defensive grasses.
The hold was intended to remunerate to some degree for the loss of the mudflats which were submerged after consummation of the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
A portion of the site exists in the Pierhead preservation zone, which was assigned to secure the recorded structures on adjacent Windsor Esplanade.
The freshwater lake which shaped behind the torrent pulls in numerous winged creatures, the vast majority of which can be found on the hold.
