About Edwin Fox Museum

Edwin Fox is the arena's 2nd oldest surviving service provider sailing deliver and the simplest surviving ship that transported convicts to Australia. She is particular in that she is the "best intact hull of a wood deepwater crusing ship built to British specs surviving within the global outside the Falkland Islands". Edwin Fox carried settlers to each Australia and New Zealand and carried troops within the Crimean War. The ship is dry-docked at The Edwin Fox Maritime Centre at Picton in New Zealand. He become built of teak in Calcutta in 1853 and her maiden voyage became to London thru the Cape of Good Hope.

She then went into service inside the Crimean War as a troop deliver, and later wearing passengers and load. On 14 February 1856 she commenced her first voyage to Melbourne, Australia, wearing passengers, then moved to trading between Chinese ports. In 1858 she become chartered by means of the British Government as a convict ship sure for Fremantle, Western Australia.
