About Auckland War Memorial Museum

War Memorial Museum sits on the most elevated purpose of Auckland Domain in a huge Neoclassical building dating from 1929, which was first raised as a remembrance devoted to the New Zealand officers who battled in World War I. Today, it houses an amazing accumulation of ancient rarities that follows the historical backdrop of New Zealand from its first Polynesian pilgrims to the present day and features New Zealand's regular legacy.

The Main Maori Galleries have an abundance of Maori masterfulness including a heavenly Maori entryway dating from the twelfth to the fourteenth hundreds of years, a lavishly enhanced Meeting House, and the 25-meter-long kayak, dating from 1836, in which Maori warriors once cruised into Manukau Harbor.
