Sati Anusuya Ashrama

Sati Anusuya Ashrama is situated in the midst of thick backwoods, around 16 km far from the town. According to Hindu folklore, it is here that Maharishi Atri alongside his better half Anusuya and three children lived here. It is trusted that Lord Rama alongside Sita went to this place to meet Atri Muni and his significant other Anusuya.

It is here where Sita was clarified the significance of Satitva by Sati Anusuya. It is the beginning stage of the thick backwoods of Dandaka, which was led by Ravana.

According to the immense sage Valmiki, there was no precipitation in Chitrakoot for a long time. Thus, there was exceptional starvation and nothing was left absurd and creatures to eat or drink. Sati Anusuya performed tapasya and conveyed River Mandakini rational, bringing about the finish of sufferings of sages and creatures.
