About Lucknow Picture Gallery

Picture Gallery is positioned in Lucknow. It serves as a gallery for display of life size photographs of the Nawabs of Awadh. There are around 30 stairs to attain the Picture Gallery. In the front of the Picture gallery, there may be a stunning pond surrounded by green lawns and trees. The photographs of Nawabs suggest the cutting-edge grand costumes and jewellery used in those days.

In reality the term 'Picture Gallery' is a misnomer due to the fact the gallery is housed in a small a part of the crimson and terracotta colored building that became constructed by the third King of Awadh, Mohammed Ali Shah. The double storeyed building is called a Baradari in present day money owed. In the front of the Baradari, a talaab became built an year after its completion around 1839. A small mosque and a matching hamam have been additionally constructed at the 2 corners of the talaab. A serai and a Mina bazaar were built in the front of the Baradari alongwith a feelkhana and astabal.
