Sam Sand Dunes

Sam sand dunes are a major attraction of Jaisalmer. It is pointless to visit the Thar desert and not go for a Desert Safari. Visiting the Sam sand dunes is the most worthwhile experience in Jaisalmer. It is the closest place where you can explore the great Thar desert and lose yourself there. It has a magnificent stretch of sand dunes, with sparse vegetation. 

Tourist get to Sam sand dunes on camelback. A camel caravan tour along the breathtaking crests and thoughts of the desert is an everlasting moment of joy. If you love solitude, this is an absolute must visit the camping and watching the sunset behind the horizon are among the chief activities. Besides, you can also indulge in organizing a bonfire with rhe fellow tourists at nights, while getting magical transported by the soulful music and colourful dance of the folks.

The whole place is a cultural, especially in the months of February and March.  The desert festival is the right time to visit the sand dunes. The sand dunes turn into a display of the entire Rajasthani culture. Cultural extravaganzas in the open, puppet shows, folk dance and music, camel races etc are the festivities held.
