The Parasurameswar temple is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar. It was built in 7th century. It is built in a small area, but is lavishly decorated. It has square towers and the jagamohana has a rectangular structure with a terraced roof.
The temple depicts the stage of Shiva Pasupata sect. The verandah of the temple have projecting mountings topped by a frieze, a feature not to be found usually in new temples. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
