Karapuzha Dam is located in Kalpetta in the Indian state of Kerala. It is one of the biggest earth dams in India. The dam lies on the Karapuzha River which is a tributary of the Kabini River. The dam was constructed in order to provide water for irrigation. Construction began in the year 1977 and was completed in 2004. The dam is a man-made marvel. It offers a most scenic view of the Karapuzha River from the dam. One can hear the sound of water gushing amidst the green landscape of Kalpetta.
