The Basheshwar Temple is one of the most beautiful temples in the town of Bhuntar. It dates back to the 8th century. According to local legends, it is said to have been built by the Pandavas.
The temple has been built out of stone and is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it houses a huge Yoni Lingam. This represents Lord Shiva and his consort, Goddess Parvati. The temple boasts of ornate stone carvings and sculptures. The flat shaped shikharas are a unique feature.
