About Hoyt-Barnum House

The Hoyt-Barnum House at 1508 High Ridge Road in Stamford, Connecticut, was worked around 1699, and is the most seasoned house in Stamford. The developer was a relative of one of the first organizers of Stamford. The expansive fireplace heap of the Hoyt-Barnum House is made of field stone, laid up with earth, creature hair, and straw. The house is supported timber outline development or post and shaft. The establishment is of field stone. The west room of the house is put.
The east room is whitewashed and the hearth room dividers are sheathed with wood framing, in this manner demonstrating the different completing strategies joined into the house amid its advancement. The house is currently claimed and kept up as an exhibition hall by the Stamford Historical Society. It was recorded on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969. In 2017, it was moved from its unique area at 713 Bedford Street to its new area beside the Stamford Historical Society where it is open for visits.
