About Silver Jubilee Bridge

The Silver Jubilee Bridge crosses the River Mersey and the Manchester Ship Canal at Runcorn Gap among Runcorn and Widnes in Halton, England. It is through curve connect with a fundamental curve range of 361 yards 330 m. It was opened in 1961 as a trade for the Widnes-Runcorn Transporter Bridge, and was at first referred to just as the Runcorn Bridge or Runcorn– Widnes Bridge. In 1975– 77 the carriageway was enlarged, after which the scaffold was given its official name out of appreciation for the Queen's Silver Jubilee.

It conveys the A533 street and a cantilevered footway. The scaffold is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as an assigned Grade II recorded building. The extension changed Runcorn from a compelling circular drive into a town with through movement. Street interchanges between north Cheshire and south Lancashire were instantly progressed. Movement on the extension kept on developing to more than 80,000 vehicles every day, and there was visit congestion.

In request to ease this, a further intersection was constructed, known as the Mersey Gateway. This is a six-path toll scaffold toward the east of the Silver Jubilee Bridge that opened on 14 October 2017. Following the opening of the Mersey Gateway, the Silver Jubilee connect was instantly shut to vehicles for a year for support, after which it will revive with tolls connected to the two scaffolds.
