About Tigers cave

The tiger caves in Mahabalipuram are not actually caves. Tigers do not live here. They are rock cut structures, shaped like tiger heads. They have been constructed in 7th or 8th century by the Pallavas. The tiger caves are ASN protected monuments and under thier maintenance. There is proper parking and green surroundings and lawn for the visitors.

The area around the monument is quiet and serene. The large trees provide shade and cooling. There are some small rocks where s children can spend time climbing on them.
