About Thirupparamkunram Murugan Temple

Thirupparankundram, 8 km south of Madurai, is one of the six dwelling places Lord Subramaniya. It is a surrender sanctuary, where Lord Murugan was married to Devayana Devasena, little girl of Indra, in the wake of destroying Surapadman. In the sanctuary there are separate holy places devoted to Shiva, Ganapathy, Durga, Vishnu and different gods. At the passageway to the sanctuary there are 48 columns with masterful carvings. The stone cut sanctuary of Subramaniya here is thronged with pioneers on all days of unique love. Its deepest place of worship is removed of a strong shake. Explore and experience this place more.
