About The Royal Cenotaphs

The Royal Cenotaphs Devikund Sagar is positioned 8 kms towards east from the centre of the city. Rao Bikaji, his descendants and other contributors of royal family of the city of Bikaner are cremated right here. This vicinity immortalize the participants of Royal own family of Bikaner. The rulers of royal family in chronological order are Rao Bikaji, Jet Singh, Rao Kalyan Singh, Maharaja Anup Singh, Maharaja Gaj Singh, Maharaja Surat Singh and Maharaja Karni Singh.

The Devikund Sagar houses cenotaphs of 22 woman Satis and 1 Sata. The cenotaphs or monuments in the Royal Cenotaphs Devikund Sagar have epigraphs, inscriptions, engravings, floral styles and design on them. Monuments which are antique are made from Dulmera Red Sandstone. The new monuments are crafted from white marble. The cenotaph of Maharaja Anup Singh stands on 16 pillars and is adorned from the sculptures of Lord Krishna and floral and animal patterns.
