Suraj Temple

Also known as Sun Temple, Suraj temple is considered to be as old as Somnath Temple. Suraj Mandir is situated near the Triveni Ghats and is dedicated to the Sun God.There are depictions of elephants, lions and various other birds and animals in the temple. This temple also was attacked many times by Muslim foreign invaders.

The Triveni Ghat is known for the confluence of three rivers- Kapil, Kiran and Saraswati. Few of the well-known temples located near to Triveni Ghat are Gita Mandir and Laxmi Narayan Mandir and Somnath Temple. Pilgrims buy little idols and pictures of Lord Somnath during their trip to Temple. Tourists also buy handmade dolls which are sold here.

Though its history is obscure, it was raided by Mahmud of Ghazni during the same time as he raided Somnath temple.
