About Sri Subramanya Temple

Sri Subramanya Temple is a Hindu temple placed in Munnar in Idukki district inside the Indian state of Kerala. Lord Muruga is the principal deity. Three poojas are held each day which include 'Usha pooja' in morning phase, 'Ucha pooja' in noon section and 'Attazha pooja' in table section. The annual competition 'Thrikarthika' is hosted within the Malayalam month of Vrischikam. Uthram asterism day in Meenam is also an essential competition.
This temple positioned on a small hill turned into worshipped by the Muthuvan tribal community inside the beyond. Later it became closed for a long term. But seeing the pathetic condition, the temple become renovated by way of the individuals of Travancore royal own family when they got here to visit Munnar at some point of the summer season. Earlier Nambudiris held the tantric rights of the temple. At gift the rights are held by nearby Tamil Brahmins. The temple is now administered through a committee of neighborhood Hindus.
