About Shitala Ghat

In 1740 pt. Narayana Diksit the preceptor of Bajirao Pesava-1, made this ghat pucca. In fact, that is the southern extension of Dasasvamedha Ghat, where exists Dasasvamedha Tirtha and snap shots of Dasasvamedhesvara and Dasaharesvara. After the well-known sitala temple there, this ghat is known as after. On the eighth mild- half of lunar months of Caitra, Vaisakha Jyestha and Asadha and Asvina people have fun the festival of Sitala Asthami.

The term ghat refers to a chain of steps leading all the way down to a frame of water, in particular a holy river.
