Nashik is an old city in the northwest area of Maharashtra in India. Arranged on the banks of Godai stream Nashik is best known for being one of Hindu journey destinations, that of Kumbh Mela which is held at regular intervals. The city situated around 190 km north of state capital Mumbai, is known as the "Wine Capital of India" as half of India's vineyards and wineries are situated in Nashik.
Nashik is the third biggest city of Maharashtra after Mumbai and Pune. Nashik lies in the northern piece of Maharashtra state at 700 m from the mean ocean level which gives it perfect temperature iety, especially in winters.
