Kondaveedu is a popular tourist attraction, located at a distance of 17 miles from the city of Guntur. It is known for its ancient Kondaveedu Fort.
The Fort is situated on a hilltop. It was built in the 14th century AD by the Reddy Kings. There are two other forts close by apart from the main fort. The preferred route to the fort is by trekking trails which are about 2 miles long. The surrounding forest area has a large number of custard apple trees. A temple known as the Gopinathaswami temple lies at the base of the hill. The forts are now mostly in ruins. They are a living proof of a bygone era and beautiful even now.
