About Thimmamma Marrimanu
Thimmamma Marrimanu is a banyan tree in Anantapur, situated around 25 kilometers from Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is most likely an example of Ficus benghalensis. In the Telugu dialect, "marri " indicates "banyan" and "manu " signifies "trees". Its shelter covers 19,107 m2,and it was recorded as the biggest tree example on the planet in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1989. A Telugu account safeguarded at the hallowed place says that the little girl of a Settibalija couple, who were named Sennakka Venkatappa and Mangamma, was conceived in AD 1394. She wedded Bala Veerayya, who passed on in 1434, and Thimmamma submitted sati. She was an equitable woman who served her sickly spouse devotedly. The tree is accepted to have grown at the place of her rising of the burial service fire. In particular, it is trusted that the northeastern shaft of the fire developed into this tree.
A little sanctuary committed to Thimmamma is underneath the tree. The inhabitants of the locale emphatically trust that if a childless couple loves Thimmamma they will bring forth a tyke in the following year. An extensive jatara is led at Thimmamma upon the arrival of the Shiatri celebration, when thousands run to the tree to revere it.Thimmamma Marrimanu is named after the renowned banyan tree, which is privately called as Thimmamma Marrimanu also. With its branches spreading more than 5 sections of land, it is viewed as the greatest of its kind in South India.Under the tree, there is a little sanctuary devoted to Thimmamma. Neighborhood individuals trust that if a childless couple venerate Thimmamma they are honored with a kid the precise one year from now.
