About Thimmamma Marrimanu

Thimmamma Marrimanu is a banyan tree in Anantapur, situated around 25 kilometers from Kadiri, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is most likely an example of Ficus benghalensis. In the Telugu dialect, "marri " indicates "banyan" and "manu " signifies "trees". Its shelter covers 19,107 m2,and it was recorded as the biggest tree example on the planet in the Guinness Book of World Records in 1989.
