About Kodandarama Swami Temple

The Kodandarama Swami Temple is well known among locals and visitors and it is arranged in the core of Tirupati town. The directing divinities are Sita, Rama and Lakshmana. This temple was built by the Cholas in tenth century AD.

As indicated by legend, this temple recognizes the visit of Sri Rama to Tirupathi. This is one of the famous temple.The celebrations of Ugadi and Sri Ramanavami are commended in this temple on a stupendous scale. Consistently the temple praises the Brahmotsavams to the Lord Sri Rama.Situated in the core of Tirupati town, Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple is another well known sanctuary in the district. An imperative sub-holy place under the support of TTD, this sanctuary is committed to Lord Sri Kodandarama Swamy Varu, his associate Goddess Sita Ammau and Lord Lakshmana. With symbol of Lord Rama in the principle sanctuary complex, it has isolate sub-places of worship for Lord Lakshmana and Goddess Sita.

High importance of this sanctuary owes to its notices in Puranas, consecrated Hindu sacred texts. As per legends, after the war and 14 long periods of outcast, when Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and Lord Lakshmana were coming back to Ayodhya, they had remained at this place for a night.
