Kodandarama Swami Temple

The Kodandarama Swami Temple is well known among locals and visitors and it is arranged in the core of Tirupati town. The directing divinities are Sita, Rama and Lakshmana. This temple was built by the Cholas in tenth century AD.

High importance of this sanctuary owes to its notices in Puranas, consecrated Hindu sacred texts. As per legends, after the war and 14 long periods of outcast, when Lord Rama, Goddess Sita and Lord Lakshmana were coming back to Ayodhya, they had remained at this place for a night.
