About Buddhist Padmasambhava

The Buddhist Padmasambhava temple is an added addition to the already majestic Samdruptse in South Sikkim. It has a 135 feet tall statue of Guru Padmasambhava and it is the tallest statue of Guru Padmasambhava in the world. It has turned into pilgrim center for Buddhist followers of the state and around.

The statue is made of copper and cement, the foundation of which was laid down by the Dalai Lama. Guru Padmasambhava is the patron saint and the one to introduce Buddhism in Sikkim.
