At a distance of approximately 15 kms from Trivandrum Central Railway Station, Aruvikkara Dam is a stunning dam built over Karamana River. The dam is the main source of water to the city of Trivandrum.
There is a small park laid out with a synthetic waterfall. It is risky to take a bathtub in the dam due to the innumerable rocks which have huge curve INS. There is an ancient Bhagavathi Temple devoted to Goddess Durga at the banks of Karamana River constructed on a rock. Aruvikkara is situated at the banks of River Karamana and is famous for the Aruvikkara Dam and Aruvikkara Devi Temple, devoted to Goddess Durga.
