About Anjangaon
Anjangaon is a city and a civil gathering in Amravati area in the territory of Maharashtra, India. Essentially there are twin urban communities, Anjangaon and Surji, on either side of Shahanur River, and are called Anjangaon-Surji in blend. Anjangaon Surji is an antiquated town having religious and recorded significance. After the Battle of Assaye and the Battle of Argaum, the Treaty of Surji-Anjangaon was marked on 30 December 1803 at Anjangaon between the British and Daulat Rao Sindhia, head of the Maratha individuals. In eighteenth century Vithoji Narayan was granted the vatandari of Anjangaon. There are records that he was granted with a title 'Surji'.
