About Schloss Weimar

Schloss Weimar is a Schloss royal residence in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany. It is presently called Stadtschloss to recognize it from different royal residences in and around Weimar. It was the habitation of the dukes of Saxe-Weimar and Eisenach, and has additionally been called Residenzschloss. Names in English incorporate Palace at Weimar, Grand Ducal Palace, City Palace and City Castle. The structure is situated at the north end of the town's park along the Ilm stream, Park a der Ilm. It shapes some portion of the World Heritage Site "Established Weimar".

The Baroque royal residence from the 17th century, with the congregation Schlosskirche where various works by Johann Sebastian Bach were debuted, was supplanted by a Neoclassical structure after a fire in 1774.
