Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum, referred to likewise as Satara Museum, is one of the real attractions of Satara city. Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum was set up in 1970, to uncover the rich and fluctuated culture of the Maratha Empire. The Museum has two principle segments – Exhibition Articles and Maratha Art display. The Section of Exhibition Articles comprises of four sub-segments for weapons, engravings, artworks and materials.
The primary shows at the Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Museum incorporate the regal ordnance, fifteenth century glass canvases and miniatures, artistic creations from the Maratha school, representations of Shivaji Maharaj and Sambhaji Maharaj, imperial Maratha ensembles, regal umbrella of Chhatrapati Pratapsingh Maharaj, weaved sarees with Zari, Kashida and brocade work, and so on.
