About Church of Notre-Dame de Louviers

The Church of Notre-Dame de Louviers is a ward church situated in Louviers, a town in the Eure division. It is a striking case of Gothic church design in northern France. The north facade, and, particularly the south facade and patio, are probably the best instances recently Flamboyant Gothic design in France. The arrangement of the congregation today is the consequence of a few noteworthy development battles that started toward the finish of the 12th century and deduced in the mid 16th.

The chevet, or eastern end of the congregation containing the raised area, has been revamped a few times since the 13th century. It is hard to know its unique form. Documentary sources don't give a solid establishment date so researchers have depended on style. Light pinnacle over the transept crossing has experienced a few changes since its unique development in the thirteenth century. Today it highlights numerous Flamboyant themes and structures dating to the mid 16th century.

A tall, slim tower that overwhelmed in a tempest in 1705 initially topped the pinnacle. South facade and patio. portions of the congregation speak to the peak of the Late Gothic specialty of brick work and are maybe the best instances of the late Flamboyant style in northern France. Its authoritative and capturing visual nearness offered visual verification of Louviers' security, influence, and riches.
