Day 1 Guwahati Airport /Railway Station Pickup & Local sightseeing of Guwahati Pickup from Guwahati Airport/Railway Station Arr. 9am in the morning and then transfer to hotel and Check in your pre-booked hotel, then leave to visit Guwahati local sightseeing Like- Navagraha Temple- a unique temple dedicated to the nine celestial bodies in Hindu astrology. It's a beautiful temple complex located on a hill with a panoramic view of the city. Visiting hours 0600am to 500pm, open all week Umananda Temple- a small temple located on an island in the middle of the Brahmaputra River on the Peacock Island. To reach the temple, you can take a ferry ride of about 10 mins from the Kachari ghat riverbank. Ferry timings 1030am to 400pm Assam State Museum- In the afternoon visit Assam State Museum which houses a vast collection of artifacts, artworks, and historical objects from the region. It's a great place to learn about Assamese culture and history. Day 2 Guwahati Kamakhya Temple - Shillong transfer 3 hr/100 km - Shillong sightseeing Cherrapunji transfer 2 hr/65 km Wake up early morning and fresh up. After that 530 to 6AM check out from Guwahati hotel and visit- Kamakhya Temple - Pickup from hotel at 0600AM Start the day with a visit to the Kamakhya Temple, a revered Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. It is a significant pilgrimage site and one of the top attractions in Guwahati. After Kamakhya Temple darshan drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya. Umiam Lake- On the way, stop at the Umiam Lake view point, also known as Barapani. It's a scenic artificial lake with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills and forests. Wards Lake- In Shillong, visit the Ward's Lake, a beautiful artificial lake located in the heart of Shillong. In the middle of the lake is a small bridge created to enable the visitors to have a panoramic view of the entire lake with tiny fishes swimming around in the water. You can take a stroll around the lake and go paddle-boating on the lake. Opening time 0830am to 530pm, closed on Tuesdays Cathedral Catholic Church - Next visit the Cathedral of Mary Help of Christians, a Roman Catholic Church and admire the blue shrine in Gothic architectural style which lies amidst expansive lush lawns. Opening time 0800am to 630pm, closed on Tuesdays Lady Hydari Park- If time permits, visit Lady Hydari Park, which is a public park located at the heart of Shillong in Meghalaya. Also known as Ka Phan Nonglait Park, it is the only park with a zoo along with a Butterfly Museum in Shillong and among the best places to experience Shillong Tourism. The park is designed in a Japanese garden style which sprawls over an area of more than a kilometer. Opening time 800am to 500pm, closed on Mondays Elephant Falls- After Shillong sightseeing transfer to Cherrapunji. Day 3 Cherrapunji Double Decker Root Bridge Rainbow Falls Half Day Sightseeing Wake up early morning and after fresh up, after that leave from hotel and visit- Nongriat Double Decker Root Bridge & Rainbow Waterfalls - Head out early morning 6 am and visit the Nongriat Double Decker Natural Root Bridge. This root bridge can be visited on the way of your trek from Tyrna to Nongriat. Trek further to visit the Rainbow Falls Opening time 0500am to 0500pm, closed on Sundays. Note The entire trek to the Nongriat Double decker root bridge & Rainbow Falls takes about 7-8 hours both ways and requires climbing down & up almost 7000 steps total, hence sound physical health and proper planning is a requirement before attempting this trek. Nohkalikai Falls After that Visit the Nohkalikai Falls View Point, the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Enjoy the magnificent view and learn about the local legends associated with the waterfall. Opening time 0900am to 500pm, open all week Arwah Cave - Visit the Arwah Cave, which is a huge cave located at Khliehshnong area of Cherrapunji in Meghalaya. The cave itself is significantly larger than Mawsmai but only a small part of the cave has been opened for tourists. It is about 300 meters which takes 20 minutes to explore. The walk to Arwah Cave is a very picturesque one an enchanting path that has been aesthetically carved out of the thick vegetation. At one point, the pathway passes through the side of the Lawshynna Hill giving you amazing views of the waterfall and the surrounding valley. Opening time 0930am to 530pm, open all week Mawsmai Cave - Visit the Mawsmai Cave, a limestone cave system known for its stalactite and stalagmite formations. Explore the cave and experience the fascinating underground world. Opening time 0900am to 500pm, open all week Seven Sisters Falls After that, visit Seven Sisters Falls View Point, a collection of seven waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Day 4 Departure from Cherrapunji to Guwahati Railway Station/Guwahati Airport Early morning after breakfast check out from Cherrapunji hotel and proceed to Guwahati.
