Raksha Bandhan is a festival that celebrates bonding between brothers and sisters. Like every Hindu festival, it has its fair share of mythological significance. It is celebrated on the Purnima full moon day of the Saavan month, a time considered auspicious in Hindu culture. Mythological Scenario of Rakshabandhan According to the myths, Lord Vishnu asked King Bali for three steps of Land in the Vamana Avatar. He measured the sky in one step, and in the second, he measured the earth. Then, when Vishnu asked where he should put his third step, he said, put your third step on my head. Lord Vishnu was pleased with King Bali and asked him to ask for a boon. Bali said that Vishnu should stay with him, to which he agreed. Goddess Lakshmi was unhappy with Vishnu’s decision to stay with King Bali, so she went to Raja Bali, tied him a ‘Raksha Sootra,’ and took Vishnu. This act of tying a protective thread, or Rakhi, is believed to be the origin of the Raksha Bandhan festival. It is said to have taken place on the Poornima of the Saavan month, and it is believed that King Bali and Goddess Lakshmi celebrated the first Raksha Bandhan. On Raksha Bandhan, sisters tie a Rakhi to brothers and pray for their good health and prosperity. According to astrology, the colour of the Rakhi holds great significance, as it can have a distinct impact on individuals' lives. Each Rakhi colour is associated with specific zodiac signs; tying a Rakhi of the favoured colour for your brother can strengthen your bond. It's a thoughtful gesture that can make the union even stronger. Let's explore the best-coloured Rakhis for each zodiac sign.

Each year, sometime in March or February, Goa reverberates with the sound of the Goa Carnival. It is Goa’s celebration of Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. Like other global celebrations, including the famed Rio Carnival, the Goan celebration begins before Lent. It starts on the day of the Christian feast of the Epiphany and stops a day before Ash Wednesday, better known as Shrove Tuesday. In popular culture, this is Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras in French as it marks the last day of feasting preceding the period of fasting during Lent. It is smaller than the celebrated Rio Carnival and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. But it is among the only such known celebrations in India and even Asia. The Goa Carnival also brings a special Indian flavour that succeeds in making it unique anywhere in the world. Its official colours are usually red and black. Here are eight unique faces that you will see only at the Goa Carnival.
Gokarna is not the most happening places in the country however having said that it is surely one of the most beautiful coastal town based in Karnataka. It is one of the holiest places for Hindu. The name is derived from two words Go stands for cow and Karna stands for the ears. There is a mythology story that when Lord Shiva was cursed by Lord Bhrama and sent to the Patalok. Then Lord Shiva appeared from the ears of cow "mother earth" at this place and since then the place is named as Gokarna. People who love to be away from the crowd, can visit the pristine waters of Gokarna and sit at the beach to enjoy the scenic beauty.I have been to Goa and this time wanted to explore a not so famous place however still it can surprise the visitors with the offerings. After a lot of searches found this hidden gem. Gokarna is just a small town of Karnataka however it is not just a pilgrimage place it has pristine beaches, laid back atmosphere, away from the crowd, enjoy the tranquillity of the beaches with your loved ones. They have also got a rich history and heritage which fascinated me to explore it more. The best part is that it is not only loved by the countrymen however even foreigners are also spending soothing time here. This was it, I made my decision this summer is going to be enjoyed on the lovely beaches of Gokarna. I called my trusted travel agent to make the booking arrangements for me. Then, I started doing my packing as once you are going out can't afford to leave anything important. I picked the hat, glasses, sunscreen, also Kept the DSLR, power bank, torch, and some basic medicines. Carried clothes like T-shirt, shots, and lighter clothes for the warm temperature. Almost everything was ready along with complete booking done right from flights, accommodation, sightseeing, transfers. The next day it was our flight in the morning to the Goa Airport which is the nearest one to Gokarna.
