Sloss Furnaces
About Sloss Furnaces
Sloss Furnaces was at one time the biggest producer of pig press on the planet. It stands today similarly as it did in the late nineteenth century — a landmark to the Industrial Revolution. With its web of funnels and transcending stoves, this remarkable National Historic Landmark gives guests a look into Birmingham's rich modern legacy. It remains with satisfaction and is an image of where the "Enchantment" started for Birmingham. Sloss Furnaces worked from 1882-1970 making it the longest consistently running shoot heater in Birmingham's history. We welcome you to come visit and find out about the materials, the procedure, the items, and the general population who ran the heaters and manufactured this city. Our historical center is allowed to enter amid typical business hours. Kindly let us know whether there is anything we can do to make your visit more charming and instructive.
